HWRK #4

The Star Wars posters are my personal favorite because they are very organized. Everything you need to know about the movie is condensed into the center of the poster. All the different characters and events going on in each poster are in the middle so you know who to look for while watching the movie. I also like how most of the time the antagonist is looming in the background of the poster. The good thing about these posters is the human eye tends to look at the center of an object, and putting everything in the center makes it a lot easier to take the info in.

HMWRK #1

The article that was about how bad designs and their effects on people had some interesting points. For example, the street sign that was talked about with the first letter being way too big next to the other letters, was an interesting point to make. The big letter causes people's attention to gravitate to the big letter, and people may choose not to read the sign. Also, the article made a point saying that not only words are distracting, but the colors are too and it could be a very good or very bad thing. The article also mentions that certain companies have a bad habit of choosing poor graphic designers to redesign their logos and somehow make them look worse then before. Logos have a lot of appeal, and these companies need to really make sure they do the best to their ability to find a great graphic designer to improve and reinvent these logos.
